t'wouldn't be proper now eh?
I could say my lack of bloggy-ness has been due to some FO's! Yay.
Over the week I have made 2 new winter beanies for the two lovely men in my life.
I didn't take any new pictures because well, they're the exact same beanies I made last year! Believe it or not, my son's head is actually bigger around this year! heheFor my "to go" knitting, I have been working on a pair of self striping legwarmers for Jolie. She loved this sock yarn we found at the LYS. And, she wanted socks, but my skillz for socks are pretty sore since my first/last attempt with Meadow the cat. So, I'm doing legwarmers. She can't wait to wear them all the time and I'm pretty happy that it's something that I can lug along anywhere. Yes, anywhere and don't judge me for knitting in church! haha.
All kids have a blankie or a teddy of sorts don't they? Jolie, our youngest who's 4, has always been obsessed with "pooh pillow". I bought Jolie a decorative pillow for her bed when she was born. Jolie's nursery theme was Winnie the Pooh. She lugged the pillow around everywhere! She learned to walk with it, and needed it for bedtime every night. After a while, Pooh pillow lost all his stuffing and eventually became Pooh rag. After a while we noticed that Jolie would snarffle, or suckle on the 'pillow'. She makes this hmmming sound. We didn't know what to make of it really. I always go back in my 'mother' mind and beat myself up for not breastfeeding her longer. lol. Either way, it's a comfort. We lost the original Pooh pillow in Walmart. What a tragic way to go eh? It was all lamenting and mourning for a couple of weeks. Until Mema steps in and saves the day with a new pillow! She careful sewed and quilted Jolie a new pillow. Jolie loved it and decided to name it "Nyunning". Nyunning is what Jolie calls her 'down' time. That hmming noise and the
suckling I guess is called nyunning by Jolie.
Insert knitting new nyunning! The old nyunning that my mother quilted is on it's last leg. It has holes, and is badly stained. So, I've casted on and am knitting a new nyunning. We're waay excited! It's my first knitted blanket and my 3rd knitted object without a pattern. lol.
So, still lots of knitting, even if I do forget to take pictures! Blog wouldn't be proper without it now would it?
