So like I was at Barnes&Nobles yesterday. And I bought this book! Even tho it's not in my list of blogs on my links, I read Laurie Perry's blog daily! She writes like every person probably thinks in their head.
I was really curious about her book, since most of it deals with her divorce and how she moved ahead in her life, and I was pleasantly surprised at what a great read it is! It's one thing to blog, and another thing to write a book. (IMO) Her words from the beginning to the end gripped me til' I had done nothing but read her book from noon until 5pm! Dinner was forgotten, and chores were left undone....lol. But, I finished it! And it was a great great read. Inspiring is the word I would use to describe it.
I'm in love with her simple knitting patterns in the back of the book. I adore people who make as many mistakes knitting as I do, and then decide that they will write simple patterns for the slow people!
You'll see me casting on for a couple of her projects pretty soon. I already went to the LYS and bought some new wool to felt with. (ugh, I'm a terrible, terrible addict...but I'm SO HAPPY.)
I don't however, give B&N any kudos.
Laurie Perry=9 kudos
B&N= 0 kudos.
I used to work at a bookstore! I know exactly what is 'good' and 'bad' customer service...I was disappointed by what most people think is competition for the bookstore I used to work for. It wasn't comparative at all. :(
Okay, enough of my "reviews". I get all lame and start yelling around once I get worked up.
Peace.<3.Cheers!
