great weekend!

This past weekend was a fantastic time as Sean surprised our family by having Grandma over for a visit, then super surprise by taking us all to Silverwood.

Silverwood is Idaho's version of Silver Dollar City(in Branson MO.). It's full of shops rides, food and a wonderful train ride thru the woodland of Idaho.

Saturday was the second to the last weekend that Silverwood would be open for the season, so we went at the perfect time. We didn't wait in line for any rides! We did have to wait in line at some of the little boutiques because all of their store inventories were 50% off! :) So it was the perfect time for souveniers and rides!
The weather was less than desirable and we were frozen most of the time. But, we can't complain much more than that because in the end we came home and crowded under quilts and blankets and took naps!

But, not before taking a terrific morning train ride. While on the ride we experienced a "hold up", and saw a wishing well explode. hehe. The kids were excited to see bison for the first time as well. The park throws out food and the bison follow the train along the tracks for a ways. It was so neat!

The kids are all tall enough to pretty much ride any ride they wish, as long as they are with an adult. And bringing Grandma along guaranteed everyone a riding buddy!

Everyone freaked out tho when I chose to ride the Panic Plunge ride. It's a ride that takes you up 40ft in the air and then lets you free fall to the ground. It catches you of course! (wouldn't be fun if you ended up dead at the bottom. heh) But, my family, yes all of them! Stood on the ground and let me ride that ride myself. It was weird watching them all watch me do something super silly and yes! Super scary. But, it was the best ride in my opinon! :P

Sean convinced everyone to ride the water tube ride, Thunder Canyon. Bad idea in cold weather! Grandma and Kaitlyn were soaked so badly that we had to go buy Kaitlyn dry clothes. Her lips were blue and she was crying up a storm about how cold it was. It was funny at the time, but afterwards, with the cold and wet and still having to walk around...meh, it was horrible. lol. But, we got dry and filled the kids up with candy and drove home in lazy sunshine.

Definitely one of those weekends for the memory book! :)

Amazing! I loooove the panic plunge. It's all about the anticipation. Oh man. I remember riding the Thunder Canyon ride in mid September one year, and it's cold cold cold cold. Blech. I'm cold just thinking about it! I need to find some coffee or something...
