it's my birthday!
I despise getting older. I was never even one of those people who wished they were older...not even when I was younger and wanting to be old enough to drive etc. I'm still that way. I probably have even more of a complex now. So, I demanded that last year be my last celebrated birthday.
1.) So that I would not grow any older.
2.) Because...generally I feel deflated on my birthday, like I think I expect the president to show up and he NEVER has.
3.) I hate people asking, "So how old are you now?" Because I don't like to talk about that. :P
But, a sweet, dear friend of mine says, Why are you taking all the fun out of it for the rest of us? I say, Because it's MY BIRTHDAY, it's supposed to be fun for me, not you! She then gently chided me and said, Birthdays aren't just for getting older, they're to celebrate that you were born. We would like to tell you that we're happy you were born without getting our lights punched out.
So, I went with that theme this year and had a very..very VERY lovely birthday. I felt so loved by my friends and family. It was....well, one of the best ones I've had so far. I can only count it up to having good friends who called, txt'd, im'd, carded and /r'd me this year to say that they were happy that I was born.
I especially loved hearing from my mom and dad. They called me up and they talked about what they were doing, thinking and talking about when I was born. They haven't ever both really told me the story of how I was born...like from their point of view. My mom has always reminded me that I was her BIGGEST and most PAINFUL baby to birth...she wouldn't let me walk around not know that!!
I did slip up once and say, "Thanks taking the time to make me, and go through with having me..." Then I was like AWKWARD! I just thanked my parents for having sex! Absolutely the weirdest thing I've ever said to my father on the phone that's for sure. lol.
All in all, it was a great fun day for me. Mostly that I felt people love. I love people love....:)
PS. Not one person asked me yesterday how old I was!
I'm:
1.) Getting so old that they can obviously see that it's too rude to ask me how old I am.
2.) I've finally punched enough people for asking that it's gotten around that I hate to be asked that question.
PPS. I'm 29 years old today. :D
1 ppl with something to say:
I am right behind ya, girl! 29 here I come! What a hoot! We are still in our twenties, lets enjoy this last "twenty" year!!
