Everywhere you go
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Aww, not really. But in my own sometimes crazy mind it's starting to niggle at me whenever I go shopping.
Since my family has started to branch, it's gotten harder and harder to buy everyone something for Christmas!
It gets closer and closer to C-day and I just want to focus on my own kids and make sure that their Christmas memories are happy ones. (Yes, I'm one of those people who like to make a big deal of Christmas. :)
This year, being the crafty being that I think I am, I really wanted to make some homemade gifts this year instead of buying them. So I started 2 weeks ago.
If you're in my family and you don't want to know what I'm making you, stop reading. haha.
For the gracious ladies, I'm working on small gift baskets that contain homemade soaps, washcloths, sachets, and candles. I don't plan on making the candles...just because it seems like TOO much after all the knitting/crocheting/soapmaking.Knitting Pattern Central has the most fabulous list of dishcloth patterns you will ever find! It's fantastically delicious to just browse and guess at all the FREE patterns. I drooled a little. I admit it.
For the handsome men I know, it's gonna be various small knitted items like ipod socks, gameboy covers, and maybe golf club covers.
I'm kinda hoping my family will finally see how crazy I am about knitting and making my homemade stuff that maybe next year they will make ME something! (hint, father. Ahem. Picnic table!)
It's a start. And it keeps me from chewing my fingernails while I'm watching movies in the evening. So it's a win win for everyone. :)
