So many misconceptions!

If you know me at all, you know that I come pre-packaged with a lot of misconceptions and assumptions. I have been blessed with a few people in my life who usually set me straight and constantly remind me of the life that is a glass half-full. :)

Lately I have noticed a lot of 'other' people assuming and making misconceptions about ME.

1) The fact that I knit and I knit everywhere I go.
This should probably be also put down as yarn a go-go queen. I am usually not without yarn tangled between my fingers in most situations. But, if people see you with a knitting needle...they assume you're a "grandma" and that what you're knitting is a frumpy sweater. I have yet to make anything frumpy! hehe. And I am definitely not a grandma.

2) That since I play an online MMORPG I am an addicted online geek. I might be a geek, and I might be online a lot...but I'm not addicted. hehe. (famous last words) I have a lot of friends online these days and whereas everything comes in moderation...this is one assumption I wish would go away. :(

3) Since I own a chihuahua, I must carry him with me everywhere and that he's a spoiled brat. I love my dog. I love him oh so uber much. lol. It's silly really. But seriously, he's no more spoiled than my own children...which is saying he's a well-behaved little canine. I expect a lot out of him. Yes, he's super super tiny, but that doesn't mean I take him everywhere with me. And no, I don't own that big purse so I can carry him in it. haha. :) He's a well-loved pet, not a brat, or an accessory.

I don't know why I have felt the need to defend myself to anyone...least of all my blog. lol. Just ranting I guess.

I really think a lot of my thinking comes down to the fact that I'm getting more and more comfortable with who I am and what I like. I don't like being told that I'm a copycat, or that I'm too much the same or too different. I like being myself. No matter what that means, a knitting needle, a chihuahua or video games. hehe

/end rant
